Araha London Story

Our Story

Founded in London.
Created through Friendship.

Founded in London in 2025, Araha London creates refined scarves defined by artistic vision, exceptional materials, and timeless design. The house collaborates with artists and illustrators to translate original works into wearable collections that celebrate creativity, individuality, and beauty.

Balancing a contemporary British perspective with a distinctly international outlook, Araha London is guided by a commitment to simplicity, elegance, and enduring style. Its collections explore colour, form, and print through pieces designed to be worn effortlessly and appreciated for years to come.

Julie and Hetal met in 2004 while both working in the video games industry. Their initial agent/client relationship evolved into a deep friendship, rooted in many shared interests: a love for cooking, travelling, a passion for India, and an appreciation for the finer things in life.

What makes their partnership particularly strong is their natural alignment in thinking, working, and creating. They both value quality, attention to detail, and doing things properly. Remarkably, their tastes — whether in design, materials, or ideas — are always in sync.

Our Philosophy

01
Heritage Craft

Handcrafted by master artisans across the East, each piece blends heritage sensibility with Western style — hand-block printing, natural dyeing, and considered printing, made in limited runs to keep the craft alive.

02
Considered Luxury

Every scarf begins with hand-selected 100% silk and wool of exceptional quality. Araha London's focus is small-batch manufacturing to preserve the individuality of our collections.

03
Cultural Storytelling

Araha London blends Eastern heritage with Western sophistication. Through collaborations with artists across the globe, every piece weaves different perspectives into something beautiful to wear, share and treasure.

THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING"We did not set out to build a brand. We set out to treasure something — the time, the stories, the people behind every piece we make. Care, to us, is not a finishing touch. It is the beginning of everything." — Julie & Hetal

Meet the Team

The Founders

Julie Lynn-Evans
Co-Founder

A career built on instinct, discipline and reinvention. Julie's journey began in 1983 in the world of music publishing, at Chappell Music and Bright Music, before leading her toward television production at ITV London Studios — where she championed the network's studio facilities to independent producers across the industry.

In 1995, she found her true calling in video games, rising over the next decade through a succession of major publishers from Executive Assistant to Manager of Studio Operations. An invitation from the founder of Marjacq Micro Ltd defined the next chapter: joining an agency built on representing both emerging and established game development studios. Following the retirement of the agency’s founder, Julie took over the company. Following a shrewd investment in a digital publishing company, Julie exited the video games industry after a 25-year career.

Hetal Dudhe
Co-Founder

Hetal is an entrepreneur with a proven record of building and successfully exiting two start-ups. She spent over 15 years in the video game industry, working across sales, production and offshore development, and was the first to bring Sony PlayStation to India, pioneering the market with localised content.

Her experience spans digital media, brand strategy, technology and product development, combining strategic insight with a hands-on approach. She has helped brands strengthen their digital presence through social media, advertising and influencer partnerships. Originally from India and based in the UK for over twenty years, Hetal brings a global perspective, creativity and business acumen to everything she builds.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Who founded Araha London?

Araha London was founded in London in 2025 by Julie Lynn-Evans and Hetal Dudhe. The two met in 2004 while working in the video games industry, and twenty years of friendship, shared travels and a love of India became the foundation of the house. Their story is in The Founders section of Our Story.

What does the name Araha mean?

Araha is an ancient word from Sanskrit and Pali, the classical languages of India, meaning "worthy" or "deserving of respect." We chose it because it captures what we hope every piece will be: worthy of the artisans who make it, the artists who inspire it, and the woman who wears it. Rooted in the East and born in London, the name reflects the meeting of heritage craft and British design at the heart of our house. It is a reminder that each scarf should earn its place, to be treasured and passed on rather than replaced.

What is your design philosophy?

We design for the woman who values craft over trend, blending Eastern heritage craft with Western style. Every collection begins with a print or a fabric that moves us, then is developed slowly until it is worth making. If a piece does not earn its place in the collection, we do not produce it.

Are your materials sustainable?

Wherever possible, yes. Silk is a natural, biodegradable fibre, and our wool and cashmere come from trusted suppliers committed to responsible fibre production and animal welfare. We make in small batches to avoid overproduction, our manufacturing facilities are OEKO-TEX® certified, and our packaging is 100% plastic-free. Because our pieces are designed to last, longevity itself is the most sustainable choice we can offer.

Do you produce collections seasonally?

We release new pieces when they are ready, not to a fashion calendar. Alongside our core collection, we introduce artist collaborations and limited editions as they are ready. This pace lets us give each piece the attention it deserves.

Where is your studio?

Our studio is in London. Visits are by appointment only, and can be arranged by writing to us at contact@arahalondon.com

Do you sell through retailers?

We work with boutiques, department stores, concept stores and luxury hospitality partners who share our commitment to craft. If you represent a buyer, please see our Trade page for wholesale information.

How can I get involved with Araha as an artist?

We welcome enquiries from artists whose work aligns with our aesthetic. Please share your portfolio through the Collaborations tab on our Contact page. We reply to every enquiry personally within five working days.
